Freiberg disease

Freiberg disease is a rare condition that affects the long bones in the foot, most often the second or third metatarsal. It is most commonly seen during adolescence, and people with this condition may experience discomfort while walking or performing other weight-bearing activities. The disease is characterized by pain, stiffness, and sometimes swelling in the front of the foot. In addition to these symptoms, a limp may develop, and the affected area can be tender to touch.
