Goodman syndrome

Goodman syndrome is an extremely rare genetic disorder that has been described in the medical literature since 1979. This condition is characterized by major malformations of the head and face, specifically acrocephaly, which means that the head has a pointed shape. In addition, individuals with this condition often have abnormalities in their hands and feet, such as extra fingers or toes (polydactyly), fusion of digits (syndactyly), unusual finger curvatures (clinodactyly), bent fingers (camptodactyly), and deviation of the hand (ulnar deviation). There are also reports of congenital heart disease in people with Goodman syndrome. Some experts suggest that the condition could be a variant of Carpenter syndrome, indicating that there may be overlap in the features seen in these disorders. However, the detailed description of this syndrome is limited, and further information has not been published since 1979.

People with this condition may show several signs including significant malformations of the head and face (acrocephaly) along with various abnormalities of the hands and feet.
